stickingupforsammy: There is this really silly idea among interviewers that women are not funny, and that when a woman is funny, she is somehow breaking the mold. This is bullshit, and NBC’s current standing lineup is a good example of why is this. The three surviving shows this year are Community, Parks & Recreation, and 30 Rock. The showrunner of 30 Rock is Tina Fey, a woman (who also plays the show’s main character. Parks and Recreation also stars a woman.  On Community, exactly half of the writing staff is women, which is unheard of in this industry.  So yeah. I guess the three non cancelled sitcoms on NBC that feature the writing and talents of women are really just exceptions to the rule. There is no way that women can actually be funny, right? Please members of the press…stop bugging these women about their gender every time you talk to them.
